As we are based on such a beautiful Island many of the daily
activities and exercise classes are taken outside, in lovely
locations with inspiring views: after all, this is an experience we
want you to enjoy!

We offer a selection of activities to keep the week as varied as
possible and to enable you to perhaps try something different or to
expand on any exercises you may already do with some new ideas.

Salsa and/or Belly Dancing

A Typical day at Boot camp

We start everyday at 6.45 with some gentle yoga stretches and a warm up class incorporating some basic circuits or a gentle jog.

Breakfast is at 8.00 following which we set off on an island walk and
experience the wonderful natural environment and the stunning
views, enjoying a packed lunch along the way in a secluded
location. Upon return to base we take an exercise class and cool
off afterwards with a relaxing swim.

During the course of the week we will take time to talk either as a
group or individually about diet and motivation and any personal
issues.

Finally after dinner together there will be time for a final round
of circuits followed by some relaxing yoga stretches.

ABCROX is not intended to be a pressurised experience, at the end of your time with us we want you to leave feeling fitter,healthier,
more toned, re-vitalised and relaxed. We want you to have enjoyed
the whole experience having had fun and achieved your goals, made new friends and had a unique insight into life on this wonderful
island.

For Ladies only - A special anti-ageing programme
This special week is for women of all ages who would like to help
themselves to combat the signs of ageing with some helpful tips and
advice from us.

You will take part in all the usual health & fitness activities but there
will be a little bit of pampering too!

During the week we will:

Look at how to achieve beautiful, glowing, healthy skin;
Weight control and diet with our youth boosting and fat busting meal
plan;
Positive and optimistic attitude;
Yoga and meditation and its use in reducing stress;
Exercises that focus on strengthening bones;
How to age healthily, minerals and vitamins and how to avoid age
related illnesses;
Antioxidant rich foods and the superfoods;
Herbs, aromatherapy and natural beauty treatments and remedies.

These special events will be held on the weeks commencing the 2nd of July, the 31st of August and the 1st of October 2010.

The Walking Week

For such a small island (23kmx 3km) Alonnisos has a wide variety of
terrain, ranging from relatively easy walks along forest trails and
through unspoilt olive and almond groves, to a boulder strewn remote gorge or a taxing climb to the high point of the island in the
north.

From the pine forests in the south, to the wild macchia vegetation
of the north and a coastline dotted with small blue coves and white
pebble beaches the island is abundant in natural beauty. In spring
the profusion of wild flowers and herbs provide an explosion of
colour and fragrance, which can only really be appreciated on foot.
Walking along these routes with Chris will give you a unique insight
into life on the island, both as it is today and as it was in years
gone by.

The walking week includes 4 full day walks with days off in between
for you to relax, perhaps take a boat trip to the Marine Park, or
take some additional yoga lessons.

Additionally we will take you on a short walk to discover the
healing herbs of Alonnisos and learn a little about their use,
function, history and mythology, or to see a stunning sunset.
Whatever you wish to do we will be on hand to advise and assist you.

If you are planning on coming with a partner who will not be
participating in the health & fitness programme or the Walking Week, we can advise on a number of more relaxing activites, or perhaps arrange for some yoga lessons
